TV
comes to the small island of Dominica. The tiny nation at
the North end of the Lesser Antilles, has recently experienced an
influx of big time American cable TV. And what impact is that
having? Its a mixed bag. The cultural inferiority complex is
profound, and there's a sudden desire for expensive American
clothes and cars. In other respects, people are staying at home
more, for better or worse. Ironically, the arrival of the network
powerhouses has ignited a drive to create a unified Caribbean
tv network.
