City TV: TV in Rural Areas

TV comes to the small island of Dominica. The tiny nation at the North end of the Lesser Antilles, has recently experienced an influx of big time American cable TV. And what impact is that having? It’s a mixed bag. The cultural inferiority complex is profound, and there's a sudden desire for expensive American clothes and cars. In other respects, people are staying at home more, for better or worse. Ironically, the arrival of the network powerhouses has ignited a drive to create a unified Caribbean tv network.
