Youd
think it's easy. Sell Barbados as a tourist destination. Trouble
is, in the Caribbean, every island looks like heaven, and in fact,
every island looks like every OTHER island, when it comes down to
the standard vacation brochures. But Barbados takes many tacks for
many tourists. In Canada and the U.K, the shared commonwealth
history means Barbados can sell itself as stress-free sunshine and
surf. But in the U.S campaigns, Barbados advertisements need to
include snippets of history and geography lessons. The moral of
the story: even when you are promoting paradise, one campaign does
not fit all consumers.
